The Problem (2017)

You are the problem.

When faced with a difficult situation, you take the path of least resistance alone, disregarding the effect that path may have on others.

You’re complacent.

You comply, because, “that’s just what we do.”

You measure your success by the weight of your pockets rather than the weight of your heart.

You ignore the world around you to remain blissfully ignorant of the flames you’ve lit.

Using a small spray bottle to stop the fire from hitting your toes.

Telling everyone around you they should be able to take the heat.

Holding the faux badge of a fire marshall, to pretend you’ve got it all under control.

You’ve got all of the tools necessary to extinguish the flames, but choose to throw twigs just to the other side of the fire because you can’t handle the cold.

That’s the thing –

We’re all frozen, and fire melts ice.
